Reach La Thuillettaz along
 le GRAND TOUR DES COMBINS

In 2024, the Tour des Combins and the Tour du Saint-Bernard merged to create the Grand Tour des Combins. The Grand Tour des Combins is a fantastic hike that takes place in 6/9 stages between Italy and Switzerland on a route of about 200 km of marked trails, at an altitude that varies from 1,300 to 2,800 meters. La Thuillettaz is located between the stages Colle di Champillon-Variante Rifugio Frassati and the Colle di Champillon-Variante Colle del Gran San Bernardo. Once you reach the village of Saint-Rhémy and cross the bridge over the stream, follow the wide path on the left and after 100 meters, when the pine trees end, take the small path on the right that goes up to the village of Laval/Rifugio Frassati. Cross the village and follow the paved road until you reach the main municipal road. Turn right and continue for about 400 meters, you will find La Thuillettaz on your left.

Colle del Gran San Bernardo Variant:

From Thuillettaz, before the village of Laval, follow a beautiful path on the left that in about half an hour takes you directly above the village of Borgo di Saint Rhémy to reach the large square where the path for the Via Francigena begins again and reaches the Colle del Gran San Bernardo

Rifugio Frassati Variant:

From Thuillettaz you reconnect with the Alta Via 1 in a few minutes, after descending into the village of Gorres you follow the asphalt road to the right towards Suil, Mottes, Devies and continue to the Rifugio Frassati.

Reach La Thuillettaz along the
  ALTA VIA 1 - VALLE D'AOSTA

Thuillettaz is located along the Alta Via N.1 also known as the Alta Via dei Giganti, between Stage 14 Colle di Champillon / Saint-Rhémy and Stage 15 Saint-Rhémy / Rifugio Frassati / Colle Malatrà. Starting from RIFUGIO CHAMPILLON, you will arrive in about 6H55 at the village of SAINT-RHEMY. You will see the bridge over the stream below, cross it and at the end of the bridge follow the wide path on the left. After 100 meters (when the pine trees end) you will see on the right the yellow signs indicating the path to go up towards the village of LAVAL / Rifugio Frassati. Cross the village and follow the asphalt road until you reach the main municipal road. Turn right and continue for about 400 meters, you will find Thuillettaz on your left. From Thuillettaz you can take the Alta Via1 again in a few minutes, reaching the villages of Les Gorres, Suil, Mottes, Devies and continuing to the Frassati Refuge, Colle del Malatra.

From CAPOLUOGO, Borgo di Saint-Rhémy , you'll take a path that will take you here in 30 minutes and then continue to Frassati.
